We all misunderstood the personality of Mimori to be a kind and innocent one. It was only when he explained his circumstances that we learned about his true motives, which he was hiding behind the mask of Touka Mimori.

This isn’t a noble story, Civit Garland. For this is a story of revenge!
He betrayed the strongest human alive and took him down with meager efforts. It was a combination of cunning and cruel methods to break a promise and go back to your own words. But that’s what Mimori Touka is. He doesn’t intend to play the good guy.

There’s a fair share of those fans who gave this anime a try for the sake of the protagonist and his revenge against the goddess. Although at times it may give the impression that the plot about revenge is an exaggeration.
