Every jutsu has a weakness, Itachi’s full quote explained!

Every jutsu has a weakness, This jutsu’s weakness and risk… is my existence!

This legendary quote comes from reanimated Itachi Uchiha from the Naruto anime series when he intends to break one of the most annoying yet dangerous jutsu of all time. The fight takes place in episodes 334-336 of the anime.

What is the true meaning of this quote?

Various people have tried to explain this quote according to their knowledge. Here, I will try to explain two possible outcomes that Itachi talked about when he said the lines mentioned above.

Itachi's quote, "every jutsu has a weakness"
Itachi’s quote

1. Itachi broke Kabuto’s reanimation Jutsu:

The primary intention behind using a reanimation Jutsu is to bring back the dead and use them or their strengths on the battlefield. Therefore, Kabuto used this Jutsu and reanimation of multiple Shinobi from the past, including Itachi.

All those reanimated Shinobis had to obey Kabuto’s commands and act accordingly; they couldn’t resist the control of Kabuto’s will over them.

However, Itachi was an exception as he was able to break from Kabuto’s control and act according to his will. There were several acknowledged and mighty Shinobis but none could do what Itachi did.

Therefore, when Itachi said, “Every jutsu has a weakness, This jutsu’s weakness and risk… is my existence!” He might have tried to convey that he was the weakness of Kabuto’s Jutsu as he was able to break free from his control and was no longer forced to do as Kabuto pleased.

2. Itachi could use Izanami;

In the first case, I explained about Itachi breaking free from Kabuto’s control, and without a doubt, we can call that the reason why Itachi said the famous quote. However, there’s more to it when it comes to explaining that very same line.

Itachi might have said the quote, “Every jutsu has a weakness, This jutsu’s weakness and risk… is my existence!” Because he had something to break the reanimation Jutsu once and for all. He was aware that the Jutsu wouldn’t stop even when the caster was killed.

Itachi could use one of the forbidden Jutsu named ‘Izanami’, which was able to break people’s spirits and allow them to acknowledge their true potential. If someone is trying to control the entire world or thinks themselves to be the strongest, Izanami possesses the potential to let them realise that they’re still weak for much greater goals.

Therefore, Itachi called himself as the reason of reanimation Jutsu’s weakness because he was capable of destroying it by placing Kabuto under the genjutsu ‘Izanami’.

When he was fighting against Kabuto, his true intention was to create spans of reality and place Kabuto under a loop of those same snaps that continued to repeat until Kabuto acknowledged his true self by realising that it wasn’t right to continue the reanimation Jutsu, and accepted to have chosen the wrong path by borrowing powers from others.

That’s how the reanimation jutsu was stopped, and we could understand the meaning of Itachi’s coldest yet famous quote.

Why did Itachi Uchiha choose to die?

Most of the fans are still confused about the reason why Itachi Uchiha died at the hands of his brother. It’s simply because he wanted to atone for the sins that he had committed by eliminating the entire Uchiha clan. However, Itachi wished to die at the hands of a capable fellow Uchiha.

Why Is Itachi so famous?

Itachi turned out to be one of the most popular and admired characters from the Naruto anime series because he was an exceptional shinobi who was a genius at the academy and unlocked the Sharingan at a very young age. At the age of 11, Itachi joined the ANBU blackups under Kakashi.
